Privacy Policy
Effective September 11, 2026 · Published by Yel
NoDup matches links with tabs already open in Chrome. This happens on your device. The extension does not send your browsing data to Yel or any external server.
What the extension uses
NoDup reads open-tab URLs, tab and window identifiers, tab status, and navigation events to identify an existing match and estimate whether a link opened from another app. URLs may contain query parameters or other sensitive information. NoDup uses them only for its tab-reuse features.
NoDup does not read page contents, access Chrome's saved browsing-history database, or use cookies or password APIs. It has no accounts, analytics, advertising, or remote code.
What stays in Chrome
- Your settings, language choice, and excluded hostnames are saved locally until you change them or uninstall NoDup.
- Temporary navigation records, candidate URLs, tab identifiers, and timestamps are held in Chrome session storage. Matching records normally become ineligible after eight seconds and are removed when the next event is processed.
- The most recently reused URL, a reuse count, temporary bypass state, and up to 12 diagnostic reason codes with timestamps remain in session storage until the browser session ends or the extension is reloaded or disabled.
NoDup does not use Chrome Sync storage. The publisher cannot access this locally held information.
Sharing and your controls
NoDup does not sell, transmit, or share extension data. It does not use data for advertising, credit decisions, or purposes unrelated to tab reuse.
You can pause automatic reuse, allow the next duplicate, or exclude a hostname in the popup. Pausing stops automatic reuse; the extension may still process navigation events locally. Disable or remove the extension in Chrome to stop all processing. Uninstalling removes its stored settings and session data.
NoDup follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements. Information available through Chrome APIs is used only to provide the tab-reuse features described here.
